Did you know that April is national Poetry Month?
Organized in Canada by the League of Canadian Poets the event was "established in Canada in April 1999 by the League, [to bring] together schools, publishers, booksellers, literary organizations, libraries, and poets across the country to celebrate poetry and its vital place in Canada's culture."
Look for poetry displays at your local library branch or think about attending a library hosted Poetry Workshop with Sue MacLeod on Wednesday April 15th at 7pm at the Keshen Goodman library (call 490-6410 for more information).
Here at The Reader, we've issued each other a poetry challenge. Throughout the month of April we've committed to reading some poetry and blogging about it here. So keep your eyes peeled for our reviews and our experiences and think about joining us and reading some poetry yourself. There's lots of space in the comments field for you to add your impressions.
Happy Reading!
