It's book award season, and if you've followed the Reader for any amount of time, you know we love book award season! The three big Canadian book awards -- The Writers Trust Awards, The Giller Prize and the Governor General's Literary Awards (The GGs) -- all make their shortlist announcements in the early fall and reveal their winners later in the season. Although both the Writers Trust Awards and the GGs have nominations beyond the category of Adult Fiction, we'll start with a roundup of nominees for just the fiction prizes in this post. It's a broad line-up this year, with only one author showing up on more than one list (Miriam Toews) and no author showing up on all three. Place your holds and enjoy some great Canadian Fiction!
